Since I joined DIP my photographic interests have changed markedly. I am now spending more time on individual projects establishing a body of work which could be used in the future for publication or a panel for a RPS award.
Over the last few year I have, alongside several of my fellow DIP members, attended workshops on Contemporary Photography which has prompted a review as to how and why we make photographs. As a result, I now try and record work which tells a story but at the same time challenges the viewer’s interpretation of everyday scenes.
One of the recent projects was to document how our lives had been impacted during the Covid 19 pandemic. Many of these images, along with other local photographers work, will be given to the Bridport Museum and archived as historical interest for future generations.
